Aberactives, a biotech company based in Finistère, is raising funds to launch the production of its marine-based ingredients, using patented enzymes that considerably reduce costs and environmental impact. This breakthrough innovation is of particular interest to the cosmetics and nutraceuticals industries.
A division of the Roscoff Biological Station, the Aberactives start-up is developing innovative processes for extracting ingredients from seaweed, enabling them to be produced more precisely, more ecologically and more cheaply than conventional chemical methods. The resulting biomolecules, which Aberactives is currently targeting for the cosmetics and nutraceuticals markets, can contribute to cell regeneration, healing, hydration and general skin health.
